# I am in need of PHP (or Perl) help
On one of the websites I am creating (and well overdue to finishing), I need to create an admin section (in PHP or Perl) so that the person that I am doing it for can automatically do the following:
- Add/edit-titles/delete (including uploading) pictures
- Add/edit/delete links
- Add/edit-titles/delete (including uploading) sounds
- Add/edit/delete “references”
I would have liked to have done this using XML (e.g. changing the XHTML into a PHP/Perl Object, accessing its variables (e.g. adding a link) and then changing back from a PHP/Perl Object into XHTML), but I have only done this using Ruby
Should I give up on this idea and go for a database connection and tables (not liking this idea as it involves database connections PHP version 4 to MySQL version 4)? Maybe I’ll end up doing this anyway tomorrow, but it’ll require more setting up on my laptop to be able to test properly, unless I keep on ftp-ing things to the server for testing… hmph.
Any ideas would be of great help, if you want to help with coding that would also be of great help (unfortunately not able to pay , but you never know, in the future I may be able to pay for any work that may go your way… just clutching at straws).
Bah, that is all for now (sorry about the grumpy mood - got loads of work to do, and little money).
Daniel
